Additional Information

White Buffalo Cow Society is one of the 56 sculptures Richard Greeves created that would become his series: Lewis and Clark, Corps of Discovery, 1804-1806, The Native Peoples Lewis and Clark Encountered on their Epic Journey. As a boy in St. Louis, Greeves studied the actual journals of Lewis and Clark. Greeves’s fascination with the travel or expedition of Lewis and Clark continued for the rest his life, resulting in this monumental testament to every single tribe the explorers met along their way.

This collection has been exhibited at many museums across the West, including the Buffalo Bill Center for the West in Cody, Wyoming and the Autry Museum in Los Angeles, California.
