Provenance: Private collection, Arizona

The original painting was commissioned by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. AT & SF published and districuted these large color chromolithographs (a method for making multi-color prints using a series of stones or metal plates) around 1912-1913 for promotional purposes. The view depicts the Grand Canyon as seen from Hermit Rim Road.
