A full-time artist for over 40 years, Dale Ford specialized in scale model horse drawn wagons and stagecoaches. Made by hand of hand-rubbed hardwood, steel and leather, each component of each of these unique pieces is separately painted and detailed. The result of a combination of thorough research and artistry, Ford’s wagons and coaches offer a fascinating glimpse into a colorful aspect of a bygone era. The five wagons offered here are an excellent cross section of the conveyances that moved goods throughout the American West. They include an Overland Freight Wagon, Express, Fuel, Ice and Beer Wagons. The C. M. Russell Museum in Great Falls and Rich Harvest Farms in Chicago have extensive selections of Ford’s superb model wagons.
