Pale blue stealth. The toe of a moccasin hovering on a rock, mid-step. Movement in the rocks, something slightly different up ahead, something more than a breeze between the aspens. A turkey perhaps. Hopefully. But it isn’t quite time to raise the bow slowly, to nock the arrow, to draw the string. This is assessment time. Time for the eyes and ears to do the work. Couse was a master of this. Stillness and drama together, letting the movement of the paint swirl around the stillness of the moment.
